Session 1: Tuesday, May 1, 2018

A drizzly chilly morning as we begin our adventures for 2018! We visited the always friendly Stinky Brook, found some salamanders, and find all sorts of critters under rocks and leaf litter.

Session 2: Tuesday, May 8, 2018

A sunnier morning whisks us away to the little brook on the way to the Magnificient Tree, where ‘forest coffee’ is served to passers by. We use gems that came from a rainbow to find all sorts of colours, look at all the buds that are popping, play in the hammock, and try our hand at making hankies.

Session 3: Tuesday, May 15, 2018

Another glorious morning in the park and we head to a shallow part of the harbour to do some exploring. We wade in the water, getting wet, making sure we didn’t go too deep, made teas and potions, blew bubbles in the water, and practiced a bit of yoga on some tree stumps.

And our friend L. sang a great version of Baby Shark while we finished snack today.

Session 4: Tuesday, May 22, 2018

The sun is shining, the plants are growing and we have found some dandelions to play with-we can make crowns and watch their stems get super curly as they suck up water. Some plants are taller than we are and we only get as far as little brook because the coffee maker in the hollow of a tree is the best.

Session 5: Tuesday, May 28, 2018

We decided to walk down Stinky Brook sampling some tasty violets as we go. Forest school tea parties with spruce tips and violets are magical, and when the sprinkles of rain, we quickly throw up a few shelters and duck for cover.

Session 6: Tuesday, June 5, 2018

This was a very blustery cold rainy morning and we couldn’t take pictures without damaging our camera. We visited stinky brook, did some hapa zome with buttercups and violets, and then had to move our bodies to warm up, so we explored a trail and came back through a very ferny lush forest that reminded us of pteradactyls and other dinosaurs-we had to be very sneaky to get back safely.

Session 7: Tuesday, June 12, 2018

On this sunny morning we decide to head out to the Magnificent Tree again, stopping along the way to check in on a nest we spotted a few weeks earlier and do a few more tree poses.

Session 8: Tuesday, June 19, 2018

A very magical morning our last morning walking into the forest. Slugs are all over the trail, so our friend gathers them up to keep them safe,  which turns into slug races when we get to Stinky Brook. A
